Don Jazzy denies the Kanye West trying to reconcile him with D’banj

It was crazily on the news that Kanye West is working on reconciling D’banj and Don Jazzy and has even ‘threatened’ to drop D’banj from G.O.O.D music if he doesn’t reconcile with Don Jazzy. It was so greatly publicized almost every news site took the story up and that cannot be blamed as a newspaper was said to have energized the publicity of the news. Don Jazzy, one of the people involved has denied the news.

Nicki Minaj will join "America Idol" judge's table next season

Blonde rapper Nicki Minaj will join America Idol as a judge next season, US Weekly reported this afternoon. The Trinidadian MC, born Onika Tanya Maraj joins Mariah Carey as a new regular on the declining ratings giant.
What's good for Nicki is not so good for Randy Jackson, the last remaining member of the original AI troika of judges, along with Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell. Jackson will move to a "mentoring role" on the show, according to an US source. Among the other music celebs rrumored for a seat on the panel are Jonas bro Nick Jonas, Neptunes producer-singer Pharrell Williams, and still not married to Anna Kournikova heartthrob Enrique Iglesias.
With Minaj, AI will get two judges in one, if she brings along her outlier alter ego Roman Zolanski, showcased on this year's Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded album and her train wreck performance on this year's Grammy telecast.
Her ascendancy is sure to spice up Idol; it comes on the heels of a Twitter tantrum this morning in which she responded to criticism that she canceled a number of UK shows due to vocal issues by lashing out thusly:
"I was in jeopardy of losing my voice entirely and needing surgery on my vocal chord. If u can't understand that, your mother's a WHORE!!!!" she Tweeted. "I will NOT let you people make me feel horrible for a f---ing HEALTH issue! That's what got me in this mess! I shldve listened 2 the doctor!"

UN video: Beyonce’s sets social media record

A music video by pop singer Beyonce helped inspire one billion messages for World Humanitarian Day on Sunday, which the United Nations said was a social media record.
The singer recorded the music video, “I Was Here,” for the UN campaign to generate one billion messages encouraging people to do a good deed.
“The World Humanitarian Day 2012 campaign has made social media history by sharing more than one billion messages of hope,” the UN said in a statement.
The UN launched its campaign on August 2 to collect the messages, which were distributed on Sunday in honor of humanitarian workers.
The campaign numbers around the world soared after the release of Beyonce’s video on Saturday and the message spread rapidly among her fans.
Valerie Amos, UN under secretary general for humanitarian affairs, praised the “amazing work” of the singer in taking the UN’s cause further.
Dressed in a white, floor-length gown, Beyonce sang the song for the video at the UN General Assembly. The video shows her singing at the UN headquarters and scenes from recent disasters.
“This is our time to leave our mark on the world and show that we were here and we care,” Beyonce said in a statement.

Madonna sued by Russian Activists over Gay Support

MOSCOW (AFP) – Several  have filed a 10-million-dollar lawsuit against Madonna, claiming they were offended by the pop diva’s support of homosexuals during her recent show, their lawyer said Monday.
“On Friday, a 333-million-ruble ($10.3 million) lawsuit was filed against Madame Louise Veronica Ciccone who calls herself Madonna,” Alexander Pochuyev, a lawyer representing the activists told AFP.
He also said the suit targeted the organisers of Madonna’s show in Saint Petersburg this month as well as the concert hall.
A spokeswoman for the Moscow District Court in Saint Petersburg confirmed to AFP the lawsuit had been received, adding the court would decide by the end of the week whether to accept it.
The nine plaintiffs, including activists from the Trade Union of Russian Citizens, claim there were offended by Madonna’s support for gays.
During her show in Russia’s former imperial capital the pop icon stripped to her bra to reveal the words “No Fear!” written on her back and called on her fans to show “love and appreciation for the gay community.”
Pochuyev also said the plaintiffs accused Madonna of trampling on a cross during her highly-theatrical performance playing on religious themes.
Saint Petersburg earlier this year passed a citywide law that fines those “promoting homosexuality” to minors, even though homosexuality is not a crime in the country.
Russia legalised homosexuality in 1993 after the fall of the Soviet Union but only ceased to classify it as a mental disorder in 1999, and homophobic attitudes still run high in the country.
Gay activists had earlier called on Madonna to cancel her concerts in Russia as a gesture of support for the gay community.
The US pop diva also angered the Russian authorities with her support of three members of punk band Pussy Riot, saying during her Moscow show she was praying for them.
Madonna said the sentencing was “unjust” after a Russian court handed the three women a two-year prison sentence Friday for hooliganism over an anti-Vladimir Putin stunt in a Moscow cathedral in February.
“I urge artists around the world to speak up in protest against this travesty,” she said in a statement on her official website on Saturday.

Olisa Adibua almost Messed Up The Rick Ross Show In Lagos

The show that brought Lagos to a stand-still,the St. Eve’s Summer Jam Fest held at the Expo Hall of Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos last Friday could be one of the best shows staged in Nigeria in recent times. The show did not go without some hiccups.
The event started 4 hours late,Africa time I guess. It was billed to start at 7PM but finally started at 11PM.
Back stage, a source, who witnessed an ugly incident that happened, said that the Beat FM OAP, Olisa Adibuanearly messed the show up. It was said that he badgered a junior staff at Beat FM, and insisted that he should be the one to introduce Rick Ross to the stage to perform.Originally this was Larry D’s role whom the organisers of the show had chosen.
A fracas later ensued but was later resolved. Immediately Rick Ross finished his performance, the hall was scanty, which marred later performances by Flavour and others.

Nigerian undergraduate, Olaolu Femi, sentence to Life Imprisonment In Ukraine

A young Nigerian student, Olaolu Femi, (pictured above) is facing life in prison in Ukraine for attempted murder. Continue to read the full story.
African Outlook gathered that the Nigerian identified as Olaolu Sunkanmi Femi and one of his friends were physically attacked in front of his apartment by four Ukrainian young men and two women who pulled them to the ground while hurling racist slurs on them.

According to eye witness account, Sunkanmi was said to have managed to get up and defended himself against the assailants with a glass from a broken bottle.

"It was while he was defending himself that police arrived at the scene and the Nigerian was subsequently arrested and charged with attempted murder of five people" a Nigerian embassy staff who has knowledge of the case told African Outlook, adding that the victim thus became an accused in a case which has become a celebrated case in Ukraine.

African Outlook gathered that Olasunkanmi has since been remanded in detention by the Ukrainian police who refused to take the case to court citing unavailability of the police to get an interpreter for him.

But the Nigerian students' community in Ukraine under the leadership of Osarumen David-Izevbokun, a Phd student in international relations has been working tirelessly to ensure justice for the Nigerian by organizing protests as well as drawing the attentions of the human right groups in Ukraine to the plight of Olasunkanmi who has spent almost seven months in jail without trial.

David-Izevbokun told African Outlook that he alongside other Nigerian students in conjunctions with some members of the Ukrainian human right groups staged a protest on April, 9 outside the Leninsky District Court in Luhanski demanding the release of Olasunkanmi.

The actions, according to David-Izevbokun has put the Ukraine police on the spot as the case came up for hearing on May 3. "We had a lot of media coverage on the protest " David-Izevbokun said, noting that he was sure the attention given the case may have prompted the May 3 court appearance of the suspect.

David-Izevbokun who was at the May 3, court hearing told African Outlook that Olasunkanmi appeared depressed when he showed up in court.

Many other Nigerian students spoken to by African Outlook however raised concern about the competence of the female lawyer: Ludmila Havrysh handling Olasunkanmi's case.

The Ukrainian lawyer was reported to have told protesters that her client has not been able to read the file material since it is all written in Ukrainian or Russian which he doesn’t understand and that was why her client had remained in jail.

"We heard she wanted to be paid $10,000 when she had not even been able to secure bail for her client who has been in detention for more than six months" an irate Nigerian told African Outlook wondering whether the lawyer was capable of defending Olasunkanmi.

Another source also told African Outlook that one of the attackers's family who has a connection with the Ukrainian police may have been the reason why the Nigerian student was being detained without trial.

"They went to the hospital and documents were secured for infliction of wounds. I learnt that one of the supposed victim (Ukrainian) has a police relative or parent, and so vowed to deal ruthlessly with Olasunkanmi" a Nigerian student quoted one narrator as saying while lamenting that the Nigerian embassy's representative came to visit Olasunkanmi in jail once but did not return again after the first visit.

But an embassy spokesperson who pleaded anonymity (because he is not authorized to comment on the case) told African Outlook that the Nigerian consulate had not abandoned the Nigerian to his fate "We are in torch with the Ukrainian authority and we have been doing everything to ensure the boy is released unconditionally using diplomatic channel" he said, adding that the Olasunkanmi was being charged for attempted murder, an offense which under Ukrainian law is not bailable.

"There are ways in which we handle cases like this so that we would not appear to be hostile or criticizing our host countries' laws" the embassy staff said while assuring that he was confident Olasunkanmi would be released soon.

When asked if the embassy has been able to secure the service of an attorney for the Nigerian student, the embassy staff said: "It is not within our mandate to pay for attorney's fees for any Nigerian in distress, you may check this out with other Nigerian embassies abroad, but we have been working with the Nigerian community leaders here to ensure that we do everything within our means to help Olasunkanmi in time of his need" the staff added hinting that the representative of the embassy was at the May 3 hearing.

In a related development African Outlook gathered that a 28-year-old Nigerian student of Kharkiv National Radio Electronic University is in intensive care unit with knife injuries to his neck following an attack on him by people believed to be racists.

Another 19-year-old Nigerian student from the Poltava Agrarian Academy is also lying critically ill in the Ukrainian hospital following knife injury inflicted on him by yet to be identified persons.

African Outlook gathered that the two Nigerian students were attacked late in the evenings by assailants who fled the scene immediately after the attacks.

The Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Ukraine are treating both cases as attempted murder motivated by racial intolerance.

Speaking on the two recent attacks, the Nigerian embassy said they were yet to be briefed on the case.

Reasons Model have Sex with Their Manager

She is one of the models making waves in Lagos. According to Okoduwa Ebanehita, she has never modelled nudé and is not likely to do so soon. She says she has not mustered the courage to go bare because she is shy.

But she definitely can model any scanty fashion item - hot pants, bikinis, micro minis, among others. She tells Adaeze Amos in this interview that her breasts are assets that have fetched her compliments.

Apart from modelling and acting, what other things do you have passion for?
I love make-up a lot. When I was in school, I used to apply make-up for my friends and I did it so well. I also do presenting and my first presentation was on the Basket Mouth’s Big Friday Show. I took part in the production of 9ja Sings and for now, I’m working on 9ja Got Talent.

What are some challenges that you are confronted with in modelling?
The major challenge is that jobs don’t really come easily. You have to struggle to get it. At times when you are targeting one, and you lose it at the end, you feel bad. You feel bad after smiling to the judges whose faces are not pleasant just to impress them When you lose they would not call you to explain why you didn’t get the job. At times while scrutinising you to see if you are fit for the job, they ask questions you are not prepared to answer.

What questions are you talking about?
What I’m saying is that they may ask you to model a weave-on or the compact powder you applied as if you are advertising it for buyers. You start thinking of how to do it on the spot unprepared. After trying your best, you may be told that your best is not good enough. You go home looking gloomy. At times, when you get the job, you spend much money trying to get yourself fully ready to deliver and give them your best. The meager amount you would be paid at last may not cover the amount you spent. For instance, there was a job I had somewhere on Victoria Island. At the end of the show, the models were paid a paltry N5,000. I spent so much money for the auditioning and at the end I was just paid N5,000. I felt bad and the worst was that the show ended around midnight. It was difficult coming home from the Island to the Mainland where I live.

Have you been séxually harassed by your manager or in your modelling career?
No, I have not. I never had that kind of experience. My manager is responsible, so, there is no room for that.

Don’t some of your colleagues do that?
Yes, some of them do. They sléep with their managers just to get jobs. I have not done this before and I’m not prepared to do it, after all modelling is not do-or-die. If you fail to get a particular modelling job today, another one would come the next day. I won’t give my body for anything because I believe when it is my time to get something real big, I will get it. God’s time is the best. When you use your body to get jobs, your conscience will be condemning you, telling you, you were not fit for the job if not for your body you offered.

Can you spell your style?
I love fashion first and foremost. I love colours too. Sweet and feminine colours; that is why I have my 10 fingers painted in different shades of nail polish. I wear gowns a lot and I also wear the mix-and-match with ‘old school’ African wax that our mothers used to tie as double wrapper. I love fashion and makeovers.

What is it about fashion that puts you off in this part of the world?
The funny dresses some girls wear put me off and then the colour blocking that is in vogue now, some girls abuse it. There are cool ways of blocking colours. Another thing that puts me off about fashion in this part of the world is the way some girls wear hot pants and they walk down the streets of Lagos. I wear hot pants but that is only in my house or in a good environment. I could wear such stuff while driving because I’m in my car and nobody sees me. Another annoying thing is low-rise jeans of which they sit on motorbike and have the upper parts of their butt on display. That annoys honestly.

What is that fashion item you won’t go close to?
The rubber sandals that are in vogue now. They are so rampant that you see them on almost every girl. I prefer leather sandals.

Who are the Nigerian women you admire?
I admire Genevieve Nnaji. In fact, I started admiring her while I was quite young. Not only me; my dad admires her too. I also like Rita Dominic because of the way she dresses. I love her complexion.

What puts you off in people?
Lies, nasty behaviours, nasty attitudes. Even if you have nasty attitude or irritable temper, there are better ways to manage it. I don’t like someone that constantly frowns. Always smile; it has a way of attracting favour to you no matter what you may be passing through. When you smile, you cover stress and you are more unlikely to have early wrinkles.

Can you model nudé?
I’m shy to go nudé before my guy much less modelling nudé before people. I don’t think I can do that. I have not done it before but when I’m alone in my room, I can comfortably go nudé and stand before the mirror.

Are you more likely to enlarge your breasts?
No! I’m okay with the size of my boobs. When I was much younger, I was slimmer than I am now, but my boobs were really big. When I pull off, the first thing you would notice about me was my boobs. My friends in school used to tell me I had firm and beautiful boobs. Honestly, I had a lot of compliments concerning my boobs, up till this moment. I had a lot of ‘I like your boobs’ compliments. Now, I have come to accept the fact that I have beautiful boobs. I love them, they are my best assets.

Could you talk on your love life?
I’m in a relationship with a Yoruba guy who is calm, loving, caring and he supports my dream always. He wants to know what is going on around me always and that makes me love him more.

What is his name?
Boo Ajewole.

Who exactly is Okoduwa Ebanehita?
Okoduwa is a model who of course is full of life. I’m fun to be with. I never had a dull moment around me. I hail from Edo State. I am the first daughter from a family of five. I hold a BSc in Statistics from Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma and a certificate in Desktop Publishing and Data Processing. I’m a model because that is what I have passion for. My first outing was a soap entitled, ‘Big Star’ which was shot in 2007 in Warri, Delta state. The one I did recently will be out in October.

It will not be forgotten in a hurry that the identical brothers have done everything from cradle to their adult age together and have been inseparable.Aside attending the same Primary and Secondary schools, the two brothers possess Diploma Certificates from the University of Jos (UNIJOS) and Degrees from University of Abuja (Uni-Abuja) respectively.

Cazorla tells Wenger to replace Van Persie & Song

The newly-signed Spaniard has called for boss Arsene Wenger to enter the transfer market in order to add further quality following two high-profile departures
Arsenal attacker Santi Cazorla has urged manager Arsene Wenger to re-enter the transfer market to find replacements for the departed Alex Song and Robin van Persie.
Van Persie has ended his eight-year stay at Arsenal, joining Manchester United for a fee believed to be in the region of £24 million whilst Song is closing in on a £15m move to Barcelona.

And the Spain international, who made his debut for the Gunners on Saturday as they were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw by Sunderland, has called for Wenger to splash the cash before the transfer window closes.

He told reporters: "It’s clear that he [Van Persie] is a great player, a spectacular player, and obviously we would all have preferred it if he had stayed.

"Song has gone as well and there are still 10 days left in the market. Obviously it’s important to replace players like that because they were so important for the team."

However, Wenger has defended the club's role in developing players and insisted that the sale of several stars had not contributed to the Gunners' failure to win a trophy since 2005.

“We make the players here. All that have left were made here or made a name here or came here very young. [Cesc] Fabregas, [Gael] Clichy, [Emmanuel] Adebayor, [Thierry] Henry, [Samir] Nasri, all of them," the Frenchman said.

"Song came at 17. I believe part of our club is to influence people’s lives in a positive way. You would prefer to influence it in a positive way for yourself but it does not always happen.

"That is what we face today. I don’t think it is linked at all with winning something or not.”

Ferguson not sure over Van Persie opener Tonight

The PFA Player of the Year is expected to make his Red Devils debut against Everton at Goodison Park on Monday but is not a certainty to make the starting line-up Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has expressed uncertainty over whether recent acquisition Robin van Persie will be fit enough to start in his side's Premier League opener against Everton on Monday night.
The Dutch international, who scored 30 Premier League goals last term, arrived at Old Trafford from Arsenal for a fee of £24 million but has missed out on pre-season with his new club.

With the 29-year-old having had little opportunity to train with his new team-mates, the Scot admits he may not hand an immediate debut to the forward.

"He hasn't played much,” Ferguson told reporters.

“We are going to assess him the next couple of days and chat with him, see how he feels himself.

“Adrenalin will help, if I choose to start him, but I think it's important he had a training session on Friday morning.

“Hopefully the weekend will give me a good idea on whether he should start or I should put him on the bench."

Ferguson also went on to hail the club's forward options following Van Persie's arrival, with the likes of Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez also competing for a striking berth.

"We've got a great combination of strikers now,” he added.

“It will be difficult for me but it's better to have another great player rather than worrying if you've got the right player."
